回顾 | 2021上海暑期学校(SSS)欧洲项目“设计驱动的未来社区”工作坊

8月5日,由上海市教委资助、同济大学设计创意学院承办的为期一个月的2021年上海暑期学校(SSS)欧洲项目工作坊顺利收官。


本次暑期学校主题为“设计驱动的未来社区 (Next Innovation Creativity Entrepreneurship Community) ”,是同济大学设计创意学院一项开创性的社会实践,致力于将设计与社区深度融合,打造未来生活的原型。本期课程围绕该主题展开,由同济大学上海国际设计创新研究院提供全程支持。


Shanghai Summer School(SSS)2021 sponsored by Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and hosted by Tongji University College of Design and Innovation (D&I) launched on July 8, 2021, has been closed with great outcome on August 5.


As a pioneering social practice in D&I, the project of Next Innovation Creativity Entrepreneurship Community  deeply integrates design and community to create a prototype for future life. The theme of SSS 2021 is based on this, and it is supported by Shanghai International Institute of Design and Innovation of Tongji University.


2021年7月8日,本次暑期学校于同济大学上海国际设计创新研究院一楼举办了线下线上联动的启动仪式,同济大学副校长娄永琪、同济大学外事办公室主任陈翌线上出席并讲话,充分肯定了疫情背景下线上暑期学校对于促进国际交流和联结的积极意义,并对所有导师和学员表达了支持和期待。

本次工作坊为期4周,由同济大学设计创意学院教授苏运升、周洪涛牵头,柳喆俊、Filippo Fabrocini、Constantinos Terzidis、Paola Trapani、Aldo Cibic、Jarmo Suominen、Hyejin Lee、Avril Accolla、Jan Stael von Holsteing(排名不分先后)总计11位校内外中外籍导师共同参与了课程指导,共计24名来自不同背景学科方向的外籍学员参与。



SSS 2021 was opened in Shanghai International Institute of Design and Innovation of Tongji University on July 8, 2021, and Prof. LOU Yongqi, Vice President of Tongji University/Dean, College of Design and Innovation, and Prof. CHEN Yi, Director of International Exchange & Cooperation Office, Tongji University, attended online. They believe the summer school will play an active role in promoting international exchanges and connections in the context of the pandemic and both of them expressed support and expectations for all the tutors and students of this workshop.


Led by Professor SU Yunsheng and ZHOU Hongtao from D&I, a strong team tutored this four-week workshop including LIU Zhejun, Filippo Fabrocini, Constantinos Terzidis, Paola Trapani, Aldo Cibic, Jarmo Suominen, Hyejin Lee, Avril Accolla, and Jan Stael von Holsteing. 24 students from different backgrounds and disciplines joined in the workshop.


本期工作坊基于共同构建全球未来社区智慧场景的目标,鼓励学生从衣食住行不同领域切入,对现有传统服务模式进行商业模式思考和服务设计升级,基于AI算法探索未来社区智能服务模块化设计,形成智能新零售、智能餐饮、智能出行、智能居住、智慧时尚等类型的智慧模块。

On this basis, students jointly built future urban smart scenes. They are also encouraged to design future smart service modules ranging from smart retailing, catering, travel, living, to fashion using AI algorithms through different fields of clothing, foods, housing and transportation.


在为期一个月的暑期学校课程中,同学们较为深入地了解了中国城市发展的现状和未来趋势,以及当下的有益探索,对中国的风土人情和城市面貌,尤其是别具风格的社区风貌也获得了“直观”的认识。

During the four weeks, the students also achieved a better understanding of the development in China, especially China’s exploration in solving the emerging problems during the course of city development. They also had a close observation of the unique Chinese neighborhood.


经过近一个月的思考、积累与探索,学生们为构建“设计驱动的未来社区”交出了精彩纷呈的创意设计方案。

With lectures and group discussion and tutorial, the students presented their outcome to “Next Innovation Creativity Entrepreneurship Community” with innovative designs.

本期上海暑期学校(SSS)欧洲项目工作坊聚焦城市公共空间中的服务模块,共分为四个课题,学员们依据自己的专业和兴趣进行了课题选择,并以小组为单位进行了深入探讨。


The Shanghai Summer School (SSS) 2021 focused on service modules in urban public spaces, including four sub-topics. Students are encouraged to choose and delve deep into one of the topics based on their major and interest.

01

“ AI+Art+Design ”


ABOUT:

AI Art/Design is playing more and more an important role in the art and design venues all over the world and property of the art or design project.


in the areas of design and technology. Specifically, the city of Shanghai has donated an abandoned factory to be renovated into an AI art and design gallery.



Group 1


简介:Python语言编码与Mingus音乐理论扩展包的结合,基于FluidSynth软件合成器,生成可用于音乐理论和内容制作的AI程序,实现作曲家功能。

Introduction: Based on the FluidSynth software synthesizer, the combination of Python language coding and Mingus music theory extension package generates AI programs that can be used for music theory and content production, thus realizing composer functions.


导师评语:这是一件很有意思的作品,它包含了基于AI技术的音符、音调和韵律节奏处理。代码本身也体现了实时执行音乐序列所涉及的随机过程和算法。可能的改进之处,是允许用户通过数据交互输入来参与其中。

Feedback: The work is very interesting as it involves AI-based manipulations of musical notes, tones, and rhythm. The code itself reveals the random processes and algorithms involved in real-time execution of the music sequence.  One improvement would be to allow the user to be involved in the process by interactive manipulations of data input.



Group 2


简介:结合新冠疫情下国家、社会多样性的背景,利用人工智能技术生成每日新冠治愈和死亡病例分布图,赋予治愈区域和死亡区域不同颜色和形状生成不同的视觉图像效果。基于计算机映射和转移效果,结合图像上圆点的形状、位置、旋转程度、透明度、噪点等因素,设计出具有不同屏幕效果的艺术品。

Introduction: Taking the COVID-19 pandemic into consideration, artificial intelligence technology is used to generate a daily distribution map of COVID-19 cures and death cases, and different visual image effects are shown through different colors and shapes of the cured areas and the dead areas. Based on computer mapping and transfer effects, combined with the shape, position, degree of rotation, transparency, noise and other factors of the dots on the image, artworks with different screen effects are gained.


导师评语:设计想法非常独特,建议加强传统可视化的内容,通过增强可视化体验和情感冲击提升作品质量。

Feedback: The idea is unique. It is still recommended to strengthen the traditional visual content and to improve the quality of the work by enhancing the visual experience and emotional impact.



Group 3


简介:利用AI技术识别出艺术品中各片段的情感特征并进行分类,同时对放置在购物中心里的人脸识别机器识别到的人脸表情进行情感分析,把人们的主导情绪与一件艺术品相匹配,最后将与主导情绪相匹配的人脸图像进行像素化创造出独一无二的画像艺术品,实现让人与艺术品相融合。

Introduction: AI technology is used here to identify and classify the emotional characteristics of each segment of the artwork. Meanwhile, the facial expressions recognized by the machine placed in shopping malls are analyzed to compare people's emotions with a piece of artwork, thus creating a unique portrait artwork.


导师评语:该设计围绕公众对 AI 使用数据的访问路径展开,非常有趣,因为它允许用户对自己提供的数据进行审核来参与数据收集。建议使用更深入和精确的AI技术来调控输入数据,以实现更佳的惊人效果。

Feedback: This work involves public access to AI-used data. The project is interesting because it allows the users to be involved in the process of data collection by offering and approving their own data.  One improvement would be to use more deep AI techniques to manipulate the input data and allow the user to be surprised with interesting scenarios.

“ Chifeng Road Food Lab ”


ABOUT:

Chifeng Lu Food Lab: a place to enjoy new diets for health and the environment.


This workshop is about designing a Food Lab on Chifeng Road, where new alternative foods are developed for health and environmental well-being. The food offer is enriched by a range of services for testing, learning how to cook with the new ingredients, broadening mental horizons on food, and developing one's diet to be healthier, preserving the environment.




Group 1


简介:利用AI技术设计的食品实验室,旨在解决因价格、设备、时间和烹饪知识欠缺所导致的无法坚持健康饮食的问题。针对不同的健康问题给出对应解决方案,选择订阅服务的客户可以在24小时里选择不同的时间段来享受服务,并在每月收到实验室寄来的健康报告。

Introduction: The food laboratory designed with AI technology aims to solve the problem of inability to adhere to a healthy diet due to considerations on price, equipment, lack of time and cooking knowledge. The system helps provide corresponding solutions for different health problems. Customers who choose subscription services are able to enjoy the service based on their availability within 24 hours, and to receive a health report from the laboratory each month.


导师评语:初始设计想法很好,可以考虑让设计更加具有突破点,例如改变传统餐馆的样式、增加一些厨师在餐馆里的行为活动,适当填补餐馆墙上关于健康指引的绘图,使图像对于健康饮食的普及更加精确。

Feedback: The idea is excellent, it is still recommended to try more breakthrough points, such as changing the style of traditional restaurants, or adding some chefs’ activities in restaurants. It is also suggested to appropriately fill the drawings on health guidelines on the restaurant walls to make the images more popular and precise for healthy eating.


03

“ Workplace as a service ”


ABOUT:

Recent disruptions to technologies, social interaction and working practices have accelerated the transition to new hybrid patterns of working. Work is increasingly taking place outside of the traditional offices.


Organizations are seeking new models of mobile work from a combination of centralized offices, distributed working places and homes. workers want greater flexibility, convenient access to work related resources, and less time wasted by commuting. Planning, construction, and management have been based on isolated usage patterns causing decrease of efficiency and sustainable use of environments. At the same time non-conventional working places have significant underutilized space that could be used for hybrid work like hotels, universities, shopping centers, and current coworking facilities.


This workshop is focusing to this network of diverse working places and develop platform-based models to manage the current transition to hybrid work and the needs of mobile workers. In this workshop new service-based concepts for hybrid work are developed through designed activities.



Group 1


简介:面向机场转机游客的服务app,并建立相应服务网络为游客提供独特体验。该app根据需求为游客提供完整个性化的体验,例如提供向导模块让旅客在转机厅通过享受各项服务就能感受到当地文化历史,或安排旅客与当地人见面畅谈当地特色文化,在餐厅享受当地美食等。

Introduction: An app for airport transit tourists based on a corresponding service network. The app provides tourists with a complete and personalized experience. For example, it provides a guide module that allows passengers to experience local culture and history through various services in the transfer hall. Moreover, it helps arrange for tourists to meet with locals and enjoy meals in restaurants.


导师评语:很好的机场生态链的解决方案,具有完整的生态网络,在满足机场旅客个性化体验的同时还促进当地食品产业和本地人文产业发展。可以适当侧重合作运营模式的设计。

Feedback:A good solution based on a complete ecological network, which not only satisfies the personalized experience of airport passengers, but also promotes the development of the local food and humanistic industry. Appropriate emphasis can be placed on the design of cooperative operation models.



Group 2


简介:青少年交流中心的建立作为7-18岁的少年得不到全面照顾问题的解决方案。根据年龄进行分组确保孩子之间能够建立更有效的社交活动。该中心提供学习课堂辅助孩子们的作业,同时也提供桌游、当地活动、外出游玩等娱乐活动。

Introduction: The establishment of the Youth Exchange Center serves as a solution to the lack of comprehensive care for the 7-18 year olds. The grouping mechanism ensures that children can join diverse social activities. The center also provides learning classrooms to assist children with their homework, as well as board games, local activities, outings and other entertainment activities.


导师评语:交流中心的概念很有潜力和价值。同时可以更多评估如何利用现有的未使用过的人力资源给这个中心带来更多发展,比如祖父母年龄阶段已退休的人群。

Feedback:The concept of the exchange center has great potential and value. It is recommended to boost its potential through taking advantage of the existing unused human resources such as those who have retired at the age of grandparents.



Group 3


简介:一个面向多胎母亲角色的智能放松和释放自我的平台,旨在为这些三胎或是有宝宝的母亲提供释放自己的智能服务,为她们创造自由且宽松的环境缓解生活工作压力。该系统包括app和可应用于离线场景的不同移动空间模块。该平台基于物联网技术和个人设备,可以在提醒服务中为母亲提供更自然、更智能的日程安排规划,再通过与专业医疗机构和互联网公司合作,提供在线快速压力测试和精神支持服务。

Introduction: An intelligent relaxation and self-releasing platform is designed for the role of multi-child mothers to create a free and relaxed environment for them to relieve the pressure of life and work. The system includes apps and different mobile space modules that can be also applied to offline scenarios. Based on the IOT technology and personal devices, the platform can provide mothers with more natural and smarter schedule planning in the reminder service. It is also designed to cooperate with professional medical institutions and Internet companies to provide online rapid stress testing and spiritual support services.


导师评语:这项设计具有优质内容和工作原理,但是应注意隐私保护,需阐明这项服务的供应商详情。同时完善系统的交友匹配机制和原理,让这一类母亲之间建立交际网络具有高效性。

Feedback: The design is strong in content and working principles, but privacy protection should also be taken into consideration, and the details of the provider in the service should be clarified. Meanwhile, the system and principle of matching friends should be improved, so that the establishment of social networks between mothers is efficient.



Group 4


简介:打破空间的限制、结合线上线下的服务模式,专为孩童设计的亲人临终关怀服务中心。线上模式包括儿童线上医生问诊、毒品和违规药物使用度检测、葬礼安排系统和志愿者服务。线下提供葬礼服务室、医学检测设备和技术服务、情绪安抚中心等。该设计系统旨在有效减轻孩子在面对亲人死亡时的痛苦情绪,并提供有效的生活协助。

Introduction: It is a hospice care service center with no limitation of space designed specifically for children based on combined online and offline service models. The online model includes children's online doctor consultation, drug and illegal drug use testing, funeral arrangement system, and volunteer services. Offline services provide funeral service rooms, medical testing equipment and technical services, emotional comfort centers, etc. The design system aims to effectively alleviate the painful emotions of children facing the death of their loved ones and to provide effective living assistance.


导师评语这一设计令人印象深刻,对于线上平台和线下服务建筑的搭建和连接也非常的完善。系统服务、运营和资源都有详细论述。建议对儿童抑郁问题的具体解决方案进行更多的说明。

Feedback: The design is impressive, and it is perfect for the construction and connection of online platforms and offline service buildings. System services, operations and resources are also discussed in detail. It is recommended that more explanations be given on the specific solutions to children’s depression problems.


04

“ Harmonizing rural and industrial Shanghai ”


ABOUT:

In a rapidly and seamlessly growing city like Shanghai many of the former rural areas are being converted to residential or industrial areas. This is creating a dyscrasia between urban and rural life and the people experiencing them. 


The workshop explores how to bridge these two lifestyles and adjacent populations through strategic design and a system of products and services. The aim is to implement Smart Urban Farming on unused parts of factories facilities in order to: (ì) involve the rural population of the area surrounding the factories (ii) create an active link between rural and urban population (iii) push circular economy practices, (iv) support companies’ social welfare programs through designed activities.



Group 1


简介:屋顶农场的设计旨在解决食物生产和运输浪费问题。这一设计在减少城市碳排放的同时,还能够改善城市的外观。基于对不同季节不同城市气候下适宜种植的农作物的总结理论,让本地农场主选择种植本地适宜农作物,增加自身关于农作物种植的知识和技术,在加强父母和孩子互动的同时让孩子收获经验,并将这些农作物提供给工厂加工。

Introduction: The roof farm is designed to solve the problem of food production and transportation waste. The roof farm system can improve the appearance of the city while reducing carbon emissions. Based on the theory of crops suitable for planting in different seasons and different urban climates, farmers can choose to plant suitable local crops and to increase their knowledge and skills on crop planting, which also allows their children to gain experience.


导师评语:非常全面的设计,并且这一设计已有系统性开发,具有相当大的潜力。项目的花费也不高,实施的可能性和长久性非常高。但还需考虑具有种植经验的农民的参与性问题,,同时应该融入更多的社区网络来构成更完整的生态圈。

Feedback: The design idea is comprehensive, and the design has been systematically developed with considerable potential. The cost of the project is not high while the possibility and longevity of implementation are hopefully high. However, the participation of farmers with planting experience should be also taken into consideration and more community networks should be integrated to form a more complete ecosystem.


成果展直击 · Offline Exhibition



本次工作坊线下成果展为期两周,自8月10日起在同济大学设计创意学院暗房报告厅同济大学上海国际设计创新研究院一楼进行展示。
