主讲人简介

唐克扬博士从跨学科的视角关注城市与空间，从事类型建筑和文化空间的创新实践以及视觉-心理-行为的交互研究。现任建设部科技委城市设计专业委员会、中国美术家协会、中国建筑学会和中国风景园林学会等多个专业协会的委员或理事。他于哈佛大学获得设计学博士学位，并在此前获得工程、文学和艺术史的学士硕士学位，有各类著、译近20本，以《从废园到燕园》、《美术馆十讲》、《长安的烟火》、《设计学院的故事》（主编）、《疯狂的纽约》（Delirious New York，译作）等为代表，在读书•新知•生活三联书店、商务印书馆、康奈尔大学出版社等机构出版。

Dr. Tang Keyang focuses on city and space from a multidisciplinary perspective, and performs research on innovative practices in building typology, culture space, and visual-psychology-behavior interactions. Currently a member of Ministry of Construction Professional City Design Committee, China Artists Association, Architectural Society of China, Chinese Society of Landscape Architecture, and several other professional committees. He received PhD in Architecture at Harvard University, Masters in Literature and History of Architecture, Bachelor in Engineering, and has authored and published nearly 20 books. His books, including his translation of Delirious New York, was published at organizations including Commercial Press and Cornell University Press.

可持续发展有些时候被等同于为集约化的发展。在消费主义的大潮下，可持续发展往往和刺激经济的实用目的产生矛盾，作为一种当代显学的产出，“设计”既可能是文化工业的恩物，也有可能是超越实际需求的冗余之物，陷入蜜糖和毒药的两难。讲者将探讨中国语境下可持续设计的意义，他和听众共同思考的问题是：如何使得设计成为社会工程的基本工具和技术路径，而不是一种可有可无的“装饰”？

Sustainable development   is sometimes equated with intensive development. Under the tide of consumerism, sustainable development often contradicts the pragmatic goal of   stimulating the economy, and as a product of contemporary mainstream studies,   "design" may be either a gift for the cultural industry or   something redundant and above the actual needs, caught in the dilemma between   honey and poison. The speaker will explore the significance of sustainable   design in the context of China, and together with the audience, he will   explore the following question: How could design be an essential tool and   technical path for social engineering, rather than an unnecessary   "decoration"?
