Enza MIGLIORE

助理教授

南方科技大学创新创意设计学院


Enza Migliore是一位设计领域的研究者和教育者,专注于设计、材料科学和艺术以及实验设计和概念性设计实践的跨学科合作的材料探索。她目前是南方科技大学创新创意设计学院的助理教授。她在罗马大学获得工业设计硕士学位,在那不勒斯第二大学获得设计和创新博士学位. 她于20172019年在东京都立大学AIIT开展关于材料及其意义与文化偏见的批判性视角的博士后研究。Enza与材料科学家以及艺术家合作,设想新材料的情景、意义、机会和知识。她的研究为科学实验室提供了系统的知识、新的实践和设计的机会。


她目前以及未来的研究是通过后人类视角的镜头,在不同的尺度上探索物质性。她的目标是在人类/非人类的二元结构之外实践,并探索新的哲学潮流和概念作为设计生成的理论框架。将关注点聚焦在构思与设计材料、物体和制造工艺的新方法,考虑人类作为自然和机器的一部分的相互联系。其中主要的之一兴趣是在生物设计中建立设计模型,致力于生态学和设计与自然之间的关系,进一步探索与生物学的互动。

  • 有系统建模的经验;

  • 具有良好的英文和中文(书面和口语),工作语言为英语;

  • 非常欢迎有代码经验的候选人。

2 positions as Visiting Scholar — at SUSTech Southern University of Science and Technology, School of Design


Prof. Enza MIGLIORE

Assistant Professor

SUSTech School of Design


Enza Migliore is a researcher and educator in design, focusing on materials exploration through the interdisciplinary collaboration of Design, Materials Science, and Art and Experimental and Speculative Design practices. She is currently an Assistant Professor at SUSTech School of Design. Enza holds a Ph.D. in Design and Innovation from the Second University of Naples and an MSc in Industrial Design, specializing in Product Design, from La Sapienza University of Rome. From 2017 to 2019, she conducted Post-Doctoral Research about a critical perspective on materials, their meaning, and cultural bias at AIIT, Metropolitan University of Tokyo. Enza collaborates with materials scientists and artists to envision new materials’ scenarios, meanings, opportunities, and knowledge. Through her research, she informs scientific laboratories with systemic knowledge, new practices, and opportunities by design. Her present and future research explores materiality through the lenses of a post-human perspective at different scales. She aims to operate outside the binary of human/non-human and to explore new philosophical currents and notions as theoretical frames for design generation. The focus will be on new ways of conceiving and designing materials, objects, and manufacturing processes that consider the interconnection of human beings as part of nature and machines. A major interest is to generate design models in Bio-Design, dedicated to the ecology and the relationship between design and nature, exploring interactions with biology.


Responsibilities

Work closely with the team leader, conduct research, develop content, organize research projects, and assist in funding proposals and paper writing.

Area of Research — Computational systems biology, Systems biology, Mathematical biology


Qualifications

Position 1: Computational systems biology

  • Master's degree in relevant fields, such as Bioinformatics, Biosimuation, Computational Science, Mathematical and theoretical biology, Mathematical modeling, Systems biology, and Systems theory;

  • Research Experience (e.g. data collection, analysis, and interpretation; paper writing; etc.);

  • Experience in Systems Modeling;

  • High proficiency in English and Chinese (written & spoken). The working language is English;

  • Candidates with experience in coding are highly welcome.


Positions 2: 

Area of Research — Computational design, Parametric design

Qualifications


Position 2: Computational design

  • Master's degree in relevant fields, such as Industrial Design, Product Design, Architectural Design, Engineering Design;

  • Experience in Parametric modeling and materials properties simulation (e.g. Rhino Grasshopper, Houdini FX, nTopology, Hyperganic, Fusion 360, etc.);

  • High proficiency in English and Chinese (written & spoken). The working language is English;

  • Candidates with experience in coding are highly welcome.


Compensation

Compensation is according to the university standard for research assistants.


Duration

Minimum 6 months (negotiable)
