NONAME STUDIO’s SEOUL Debut:

“Liminal Traces 阈限痕迹”

During Seoul Art Week 2026 and Frieze Week, NONAME STUDIO made its first appearance in Seoul with Liminal Traces, Stefano Galli’s first solo exhibition in the South Korean capital. Curated by Carlotta Mazzoli, the exhibition took place at Gallery MOS from 31 August to 13 September 2026, in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute in Seoul and Francesco Donà Collection. The opening reception was held on 31 August during Euljiro Gallery Night.

在2026首尔艺术周与弗里兹周期间，NONAME STUDIO以“阈限痕迹”首次亮相首尔，这是斯蒂法诺·加利在韩国首都的首次个展。展览由卡洛塔·马佐利策展，于2026年8月31日至9月13日在Gallery MOS举行，并与首尔意大利文化院及Francesco Donà Collection合作。开幕式于8月31日在乙支路画廊之夜期间举行。

For NONAME STUDIO, this project marked a new chapter in its work connecting artists and audiences across China, Europe, and the wider Asian region. It also continued a longstanding relationship with Galli, whose artistic development in Shanghai included a residency at the studio. Bringing his work to Seoul extended that shared journey to a new cultural context and audience.

对NONAME STUDIO而言，该项目标志着我们在连接中国、欧洲及更广泛亚洲地区艺术家与观众的工作中开启了新篇章。它也延续了与加利的长期关系——加利在上海的艺术发展期间曾在工作室驻留。将他的作品带到首尔，把这段共同旅程延伸至新的文化语境与观众。

Following more than a decade of exhibiting across Asia, Galli presented eight new paintings created exclusively for Liminal Traces, introducing Korean audiences to a practice that brings digital gestures into dialogue with the traditions of oil painting.

在亚洲各地展出十余年后，加利呈现了八幅专为“阈限痕迹”创作的新绘画，向韩国观众介绍了一种将数字手势与油画传统相对话的实践。

Galli’s paintings begin on the screen of a smartphone. Digital graffiti drawn with a fingertip becomes the starting point for compositions subsequently rendered by hand in oil.

加利的绘画始于智能手机屏幕。用手指绘制的数字涂鸦成为构图的起点，随后以油画手工呈现。

Trained in Italian figurative painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Galli translates these fleeting digital marks into paint, setting them against lush natural landscapes. The resulting works bring together two visual languages: nature and interface, memory and mediation, physical presence and the screen.

加利曾在佛罗伦萨美术学院接受意大利具象绘画训练，他将这些转瞬即逝的数字痕迹转译为绘画，并将其置于繁茂的自然风景之中。由此产生的作品汇聚了两种视觉语言：自然与界面、记忆与中介、身体在场与屏幕。

As curator Carlotta Mazzoli explains:

“Rather than opposing technology and nature, Galli’s paintings inhabit the threshold where the digital and the material coexist, transforming fleeting gestures on a screen into lasting traces on canvas.”

正如策展人卡洛塔·马佐利所阐释的：

“加利的绘画并非将技术与自然对立，而是栖居于数字与物质共存的阈值，将屏幕上转瞬即逝的手势转化为画布上持久的痕迹。”

The exhibition’s title refers to this condition of being in between. Galli’s canvases move between the immaterial and the physical, the instantaneous and the enduring. They become afterimages: traces of gestures that painting retrieves and holds.

展览标题指涉的正是这种介于两者之间的状态。加利的画布在非物质与物质、瞬时与持久之间移动。它们成为余像：绘画重新拾取并保存的手势痕迹。

Through this encounter, Liminal Traces invites viewers to consider what remains of presence when so much of contemporary seeing takes place through a screen.

通过这一相遇，“阈限痕迹”邀请观众思考：当当代观看如此多地经由屏幕发生之时，在场还剩下什么。

Born in Florence in 1989, Stefano Galli studied Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence under Adriano Bimbi, graduating with honours. Early in his career, he was also mentored by Mauro Pratesi.

斯蒂法诺·加利1989年生于佛罗伦萨，曾在佛罗伦萨美术学院师从阿德里亚诺·宾比学习绘画，并以优异成绩毕业。职业生涯早期，他还曾受毛罗·普拉泰西指导。

After winning the Enegan Prize in Florence in 2015 , Galli relocated to Shanghai, where he developed a substantial body of work through a residency at NONAME STUDIO and a series of solo exhibitions, including Sospiro (2022), The Falling of Blossom, the Trail of Fireflies (2023), 云游 / Wandering (2024), and Neomimesis (2025).

2015年 在佛罗伦萨获得Enegan奖 后，加利移居上海，并在NONAME STUDIO驻留及一系列个展中发展出大量作品，包括《 Sospiro 》（2022）、《 The Falling of Blossom, the Trail of Fireflies 》（2023）、《 云游 / Wandering 》（2024）和《 Neomimesis 》（2025）。

His work has been presented at art fairs and institutions across Greater China and Southeast Asia, including Art Central, Art021, Art Shenzhen, and One Art Taipei. In 2026, his work returned to Italy with Interwave at Galleria Nicola Pedana.

他的作品曾在中国及东南亚各地的艺博会与机构展出，包括 Art Central、Art021、艺术深圳和One Art Taipei 。2026年，他的作品以“Interwave”回到意大利，在Galleria Nicola Pedana展出。

Rooted in Italian figurative painting and shaped by years of working in China, his practice explores the relationship between digital technologies and traditional painting.

“I take graffiti generated digitally on a smartphone and translate it into oil on canvas, exploring the tension between two creative logics that are both opposed and symbiotic,” says Galli.

“我将智能手机上以数字方式生成的涂鸦转译为画布上的油画，探索两种既对立又共生的创作逻辑之间的张力，”加利说。

Founded in Shanghai by curator and creative director Carlo Maria Rossi, NONAME STUDIO supports artistic research and cultural exchange through exhibitions, artist residencies, publications, and international collaborations. Since its founding, the studio has hosted more than fifty artists.

NONAME STUDIO由策展人兼创意总监卡洛·马里亚·罗旭在上海创立，通过展览、艺术家驻留、出版及国际合作支持艺术研究与文化交流。自创立以来，工作室已接待五十余位艺术家。

Its first project in Seoul builds on this experience, opening new possibilities for exchange between Italian artists and the Korean contemporary art scene.

其在首尔的第一个项目建立在这一经验之上，为意大利艺术家与韩国当代艺术界之间的交流开辟新的可能。

Located in Euljiro, Gallery MOS provided the setting for this encounter. Established in 2025, the gallery takes its name from Meditation of Silence, approaching silence as a space for contemplation, experimentation, and dialogue between artists and audiences.

Gallery MOS位于乙支路，为这次相遇提供了场所。该画廊成立于2025年，其名称源自“沉默冥想”（Meditation of Silence），将沉默视为沉思、实验以及艺术家与观众对话的空间。
